Emergency exit
The metal door of the emergency exit underneath the embrasure of the observation post (09/10/1999).

Notice the hinges of the closing half plates welded to the metal frame
which is imbedded in the pavement (09/10/1999).
The emergency exit departs from a trapdoor opening in the pavement of
the curved section of the corridor inside the observation post.
The narrow shaft parallels the casemate along its entire length, after
which it make a 45° left turn and opens to the outside a few
meters beyond the embrasure.
The two half plates of the trapdoor have been removed, whereas the external
door is still in place. You can see its metal latch on the outside and
a locking bolt on the inside.
